Two of Crete's best-known beaches are close by - easy trips for an afternoon by the sea.
Voulisma is known for its shallow, clear water and soft sand, making it an easy favourite for a slow morning by the sea. A little further along, Almyros beach meets a small river as it reaches the coast, with tamarisk trees offering shade right down to the waterline.
Two Beaches, One Short Drive
Both are organised enough for sunbeds and a beachside taverna, yet open enough to still feel like a proper stretch of coastline. Arrive early for the quiet, or come later in the afternoon when the light turns soft over the water.
- Voulisma — shallow, clear water and fine sand
- Almyros — shaded by trees, where a river meets the sea
- Sunbeds, umbrellas, and a taverna at each beach
- A short drive from the villa, easy for a half-day trip
Pack a towel and not much else — these two beaches make it easy to turn any afternoon into one spent entirely by the water.
